Subtleties of application

All types of concrete additives should be diluted or dissolved in warm water. If the additive is mixed with cement-sand mortar in a liquid aggregate state, it begins to work immediately after addition.

The dry additive will begin to “work” only after complete dissolution and thorough mixing. The dosage of additives depends on the specific material, specific tasks and the requirements of the manufacturer’s instructions. In general, the amount of additives should not exceed 1% by weight of the binder (cement).

  • Change in composition, and only the quantitative ratio of sand and cement is important . The more of the latter, the stronger the material. But this rule only works up to a certain point. There is a certain limit norm, and if you add more cement, it will have the opposite effect. The concrete will become brittle. The quality of cement and sand, their physical and chemical properties, and composition are also important.
  • Reinforcement. The use of reinforcement leads to strengthening of structures. It can be dispersed, monolithic or mesh. The more reinforcement used in a product, the stronger it is.
